ABMABAMBA WIGGY WIG
2014/ performative video, 15 min 55 sec

ABMABAMBA WIGGY WIG unveils a determined action of placing a pile of towels on my head while constantly chanting 'Abmabamba Wiggy Wig.' Its inspiration comes from my experience in an Indian Sikh temple, where I was drawn to the meditative ritual of covering their sacred altar with several layers of ornate fabric. Through my feminine alter ego, the piled-up towels become a symbol of crowning glory despite bearing burdens. Hence, it also contemplates my desire to represent such self-transformation with odd humor as I attempt to assume a position of power.
